Brad Stevens would prefer to forget this week.
Not only has his team lost three straight games, but he dealt with identity theft and underwent root canal.
“I was just telling my wife, I had a root canal and my identity stolen last week and I think those were two of my better days in the last eight days. It’s just been what it is,” the Celtics’ coach said on 98.5 FM’s “Zolak & Bertrand” show.
“It was the real stuff. People were trying to open
cards and all this stuff. Calling Target to open [an] account. Like I would have an interest in opening a Target account right now during this stretch.”
Stevens hasn’t had any luck with his job, either. The Celtics have dropped games to the Pelicans, Mavericks and Hawks – three teams under .500 – as they fell to 15-17. They trailed the Hawks by more than 20 points in the second quarter.
This team was considered an Eastern Conference contender before this season, but right now they are a half-game out of the playoffs behind the Knicks, Bulls and Hornets.
