The fatal three-alarm Queens blaze that killed three people appears to have been an electrical fire, sources told The Post on Sunday.
The horrific fire sent tenants leaping from windows at the 90-31 48th Ave. apartment house in Elmhurst early Saturday — with two victims trapped behind a locked door on the second floor, witnesses said.
A preliminary probe said the flames appear to have been an electric fire, sources said.
City records show that the building has been the subject of 35 complaints to the city Department of Buildings, including one in May that alleged there were 60 people living there.
In 2018 another complaint said a garage had been illegally converted into an apartment.
The building’s owners have been cited for 27 violations since 2010, with 26 of those still open and unresolved, the records show.
Officials at City Hall and the city buildings department did not immediately respond to requests for comment Sunday.
Property records show that the house is currently owned by a limited liability company, 9031 48 Ave LLC. State records lists Eric Chen as the registered agent for the entity.
