Lakers’ Legend Magic Johnson Says LeBron James Should be League MVP



LeBron James put on a phenomenal performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Playing against his former team, LeBron dropped 46 points, including 21 in the fourth quarter to keep the Lakers perfect on the road. As of now, the Lakers have the best record in the league with 14-4, with James being the focal point of their hot start.

Magic backs Bron for MVP

LA Lakers legend Magic Johnson took to Twitter to heap praises on LeBron James. He said, “LeBron James went back to Cleveland and put on a show!! 46 points, 23 points in the 4th quarter, AND 7 three-pointers!! LeBron making another statement for why he is MVP of the league this season!”

LeBron was absolutely spectacular against the Cavaliers. Posting his highest points total of the season, James continued the Lakers’ excellent record away from home, bringing them to 10-0. James has been the best player on the Lakers, helping lead the team in all aspects in each game they play.

James has been earning MVP considerations with his play. He is currently averaging 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists for the season. James is the frontrunner for the MVP right now, along with players like Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic, Paul George, and Steph Curry. The fact that he is the best player on the best team makes him one of the favorites for now.

LeBron James chasing fifth MVP title

If James does win the MVP this year, it will be his fifth overall. It would put him in the ranks of the elites, like Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who won five or more MVP titles in their career. Getting the fifth MVP would be a big notch in James’ legendary list of accomplishments.

The Lakers are the current favorites to win the NBA championship. After winning the title last year, the Lakers revamped their roster, bringing in younger stars who were excellent performers for their other teams. The roster has quickly found their chemistry and has shown that their favorite status is absolutely deserved.
