NCAA Men’s Basketball returns with an exciting clash between two intercity rivals. The Texas Longhorns take on the Texas Red Raiders tonight in the hunt for their seventh consecutive win. The game will be held at the Frank Erwin Center at 9 pm EST.

The Longhorns have had a dream run so far. Their current record is 10-1 and their only loss was an upset against the Villanova Wildcats. Their biggest win so far is their 84-59 crushing victory against Kansas. They blew apart the favorites, proving that they are ready to claim the Big 12 title.

The Red Raiders have also won 10 games, but have recorded three losses too. Two of those losses came during their bouts with ranked opponents, and the third was a loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. But they will be high on morale after a huge 91-64 win against Iowa State in their last game.

NCAA Men’s Basketball: Can the Longhorns continue their unbeaten Big 12 run?

The Longhorns don’t have any new injuries and have their best players available for this big stakes game. Junior guard Courtney Ramey will be leading the team once again. He is currently averaging 13.8 points while shooting an impressive 42% from three.

So their lineup will feature Jericho Sims, Andrew Jones, Courtney Ramey as their guards, while Matt Coleman III and Greg Brown play as their forwards.

Similar to their rivals, the Red Raiders don’t have any major injuries to deal with for tonight’s game. Junior guard Max McClung has been the hero for the Red Raiders so far. He transferred to Texas Tech to get a bigger stage to show off his talent, and he is doing just that averaging 15.3 points per game.

Their lineup will have Kevin McCullar, Kyler Edwards, and Max McClung starting as their guards, while Marcus Santos-Silva and Micah Peavy start as the forwards.

Both teams have good depth with four players each averaging in double-digit points, but the Longhorns have more experience and are a much more balanced team. While both teams are in the top five best defenses, the Longhorns offense is ranked 12th compared to the Red Raiders who are 37th.

So the Longhorns will be the favorites and will be expected to edge out their rivals. Their main task will be to contain McClung, but if he is able to score efficiently, they will be will in trouble.
