An NYPD officer was arrested in the Bronx early Wednesday for harassing someone on the phone, authorities said.
Michael Mercurio, 36, lashed out at a representative from an office he was calling for personal matters on Tuesday, police said.
That person reported the incident to police, and Mercurio turned himself in at an Internal Affairs Bureau in the Bronx at around midnight Wednesday, authorities said.
He was hit with an aggravated harassment charge and suspended without pay from the department, the NYPD confirmed.
No further details were immediately available.
